You should never trust what you read online, right?
Well, it certainly helps when you see the face behind the html. My name is Elizabeth (but please don’t call me that). I much prefer Liz.
Now here’s a trick question: how old am I? Don’t look at the answer! How old do you think?
I’m 23! We’ll pretend you thought no younger than 20.
It actually feels pretty crazy to be to be in my early twenties. Currently, I’m a graduate student studying Mental Health Counseling at Northern Illinois University (and only a year and a half left). I’ve been living around campus for about 3 years now, just received my bachelors in Psychology, and I am just dreaming of the day I will walk across the stage for the second and final time.
I didn’t always want to be a counselor however. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be an author. Telling stories, crafting intricate twists and turns, as well as loveable and relatable characters has always been a deep passion of mine.
One day, after undertaking the seemingly enormous task of becoming a minimalist, I decided that there would be no better way to document my progress and take note of my experiences than to start a blog.
I’ve tried a number of different creative outlets but none seem to stick as well as writing. If you are an avid writer you will know that there is a special authoring magic that comes with being significantly impacted by a life experience. The emotions and drive that well up within you cannot help but be poured out into written word.
So, this blog is the product of my journey so far and I am more than happy to share it with you!
